First trees of the Water Drop Forest planted

On Thursday, October 28, 50 birch trees were planted in a new Water Drop Forest on Vatnsendahæð in Iceland by representatives of the Water Drop Project.

“With the Water Drop Forest, we want to carbon offset the travel that results from the collaboration, and the first trees were planted as we welcomed representatives from all the partner countries. We will carbon offset every single flight as a result of the collaboration and are planning more projects to combat climate change.”
Soffía Karlsdóttir, Director of Cultural Affairs in Kópavogur.

On October 26-29, the first local meeting of the Water Drop board in Iceland took place, where representatives of all the partners came together and drafted the next steps in the Water Drop Project, which will be carried out under the title Life on Land.
