We were lucky enough to be invited to RVK Studios to meet Baltasar Kormákur, an Icelandic film director known for both Icelandic and Hollywood production films. He introduced the power of the movie and how it can be used to express one’s beliefs and ideas.
The Young Curators were guided through the biggest movie studio in Iceland, presented with its potential and shown how it works – and they got to see a rehearsal for the Icelandic Eurovision Song Contest as well.
After the discussions, the Young curators went on location to shoot their own short movies and got advice from Baltasar Kormákur himself along the way.
They used iPads provided by their schools to film and edit, as Kópavogur has implemented an iPad policy for all school children in the municipality.
