Today, the mayor of Kópavogur opened a Water Drop exhibition in Smáralind mall. 3rd and 5th year students in Vatnsendaskóli Elementary School participated in a project for the Children’s Cultural Festival in Iceland in cooperation with the Water Drop.
The students’ task was to look at historical characters and nature through history, discuss what sounds they hear in nature and how nature can be used in music, poetry and art. They also read children’s literature by the authors H.C. Andersen, Tove Janson and Astrid Lindgren as inspiration. The resulting art work will be on display in Smáralind mall at the Children’s Culture Festival until the 3rd of May.
In addition to being able to see the artwork, children can relax in the cozy corner of the exhibition to listen to the stories used for inspiration.
